'WET MATCHES' tells the uplifting tale of five homeless teens (all HIV positive) getting a second chance at a better life.

One summer. Seven hearts. 29 Dimes. It wasn't your typical LA summer. No one could've predicted what happened that day in Silver Lake. It was a summer of passion, confusion, and growth. One hot, crazy summer. Seven hungry hearts. 29 Dimes. Award-winning, prolific writer Randolph Randy Camp creates a moving, tender love story amid a wild, crazy summer as Teki, Ronnie, Pepe, Brittany, Kalib, Tip, and Valerie each will have an experience that will shape and change their young lives forever. Valerie has the kind of natural beauty that belongs on magazine covers. All the guys in Silver Lake dream about her. One guy will get lucky this summer and win her heart. Pepe's mouth has always gotten him into trouble. A talented street poet, will Pepe's provocative, 'in your face' anthem 'Hear My Echo!' get him into trouble at this summer's Silver Lake street festival? Teki will be the first to admit that she's certainly not your typical Chinese girl. A gifted musical prodigy, Teki once got kicked out of a prestigious music academy for rocking a reggae rhythm instead of the required Beethoven tune at her classical piano recital. Now, at seventeen, Teki fronts an all-girl progressive reggae band in Silver Lake. Kalib is a young Armenian computer whiz who is hoping to win Valerie's heart this summer. Carrying the agonizing weight of his family's dark past on his shoulders, Kalib believes that Valerie's love could wash away all of that pain, if only he could somehow convince her to go out with him. A gifted storyteller, Randolph Randy Camp offers the reader a realistic glimpse of contemporary life in the Los Angeles community of Silver Lake. If you still believe that love can happen to the most unlikely people and that love still can be found in the most unusual place then Randolph Randy Camp's '29 Dimes: A Love Story' is for you. One summer. Seven hearts. 29 Dimes.

Clip From "The Legend of Three Trees"

Three Trees and young Lonnie is waiting for Lonnie's older sister at the bus stop...

We notice Three Trees' brighten face when Janus Jones, a 17 year-old with supermodel good looks and the seductive curves of a grown woman, steps off of the bus.
Not given a chance to properly introduce the two, Lonnie patiently stands between Three Trees and Janus as they look longingly into each other's eyes, seemingly melting and falling in love at first glance.
Knowing that he's momentarily non-existent to them, Lonnie comically performs his formal introducing duties anyway...
                                                             LONNIE
Janus, this is Three Trees. Yes, I did say
Three Trees. He stayed at the needle place.
Trust me, you don't wanna  know what
happened to 'em there. He likes red apples
and he's gonna be stayin' with us.
                                                   (turns)
Three Trees, this is Janus. 'Cause she's
pretty all the girls 'round here hates her
                                       an' wanna kick her butt.

"The Legend of Three Trees" Excerpt

Three Trees is heavily sedated as a noticeably large team of doctors and surgical staff observe a surgeon carefully extract the bullet from the open wound on Three Trees' lower back.  The surgeon places the bullet in a small tin pan then gestures his colleagues to step closer for a better view into the open wound. Under bright surgical lights, the curious doctors peer at Three Trees' illuminated raw flesh. We notice baffled expressions spreading amongst the prominent professionals...The head surgeon speaks...
                                                                         SURGEON
This isn't normal human flesh. Hm, kinda
reminds me of Botany class back in college.
                                                                       (pointing)
That tissue there looks like phloem and xylem
fibers found in trees. That's what makes them
grow. They're sort of like our human muscle
                                                        cells.

"Tony's Bike" Excerpt

Summer vacation is over. It's the first day of school. We see backpacked kids of all shapes and sizes crossing their well-manicured lawns and strolling the sidewalks leading towards the sheltered bus stop at the edge of Stonebridge's entrance. In the background, we see a 'HOUSE FOR SALE' sign posted in the Curtis' front yard. Stepping out the door, Sheila takes a glance at the Curtis' house then sighs disappointedly while crossing the lawn. On the sidewalk, we see MS-stricken Tony awkwardly pedaling his glistening metallic blue low rider bike with the sparkling gold-spoke training wheels and stylish low-dipped banana seat. Tony's mother is close behind ,carrying Tony's backpack in her hand.  Ms. Miller waves 'hello' to Sheila. Sheila's gloomy face blossoms into a cheerful sunflower as she observes Tony's crippled legs slowly keep the flashy low rider bike moving along.
                                                                   TONY
                                                            (slurred: to Sheila)
                                                YYyyeah ,II'm bbbbaaddd.

Amused, both Sheila and Ms.Miller dispense Light Chuckles...

Clip From "LaBrea's Moon"

LaBrea's is absolutely adored in her hometown. Nearly everyone knows of her acting talents and Hollywood dream. The locals love it when LaBrea periodically shows off her talents...

At Miss Yung's restaurant, LaBrea is definitely a star. LaBrea blushes as her Orchard Valley fans continue to worship her presence and often shout out requests for their favorite characters...A restaurant patron shouts to LaBrea " Hey, LaBrea, do 'drunk driver'!

LaBrea seems, at first, not in the mood but a second patron shouts " Yeah, 'drunk driver'!"

LaBrea begins to stand with weaken knees....and with a slurred speech, she begins "But Mister Officer...But Mister Officer...how...how in the world could I stop the car when...when the freakin' pole was comin' at me...comin' at me 'bout a hundred miles a' hour!?"
The entire restaurant erupts into laughter....

Wet Matches: A Novel" is an inspiring and uplifting story about five homeless 'throwaway' teens (all HIV positive) getting a second chance at a better life when a young couple on a high school reunion trip rescues them and takes them on a cross-country journey to their new home in sunny California. 'Wet Matches' is about friendships, and it asks the question, "How far would you go for a friend?" Fifteen years of separation didn't stop Crystal from being there for Jalan. What Crystal did for Jalan will inspire us all to take a closer look at our own relationships and friendships...Could you still laugh knowing that death was possibly lurking around the corner? Meet five free-spirited teens: Shelly, Robbie, Josie, Micky and Cole, who will inspire you to enjoy every second of your life. Shelly is pregnant. Robbie plays guitar. Josie's a little confused. Micky likes cars. Cole's a little shy. Some people called them useless. They were told to get out of town. Some people said that they were about as good as wet matches...but Jalan, Crystal and Jack thought otherwise. If you had ever been ridiculed, bullied, mocked...or if someone had ever made you feel like you was good for nothing or worthless then Randolph Randy Camp's award-winning 'Wet Matches: A Novel' is a story for you. Without being preachy-but yet-entertaining, 'Wet Matches' takes a fresh contemporary look at America's ever-increasing youth runaway and teen homeless problems. 'WET MATCHES' is a Quarter-Finals Winner of The Writers Network 14th Annual Screenplay and Fiction Competition

Lenny, a fast-tongue snake, is about to take young LaBrea for a ride...

Lenny hastily snatches the paper in which he'd put aside earlier. Along with a pen, he shoves the sheet into LaBrea's hands. LaBrea's eyes quickly scan the legal form. Her face turns suddenly puzzled.
Lenny explains "That's a release form. I just need you to sign it at the bottom. It's mumbo-jumbo givin' me permission to use yo' image an I'm givin' ya five hundred dollars. That's a lot of money for that permission."
One glance at the wad of twenties resting in her lap and all apprehensions are wiped from LaBrea's face. Full of trust and innocence , LaBrea happily signs the bottom of the release form. Triumphantly, Lenny spreads his cheeks, proudly displaying that mischievous grin...
Lenny speaks "Before I take you in the back to meet the fellas, you did say you're over eighteen, right?"....LaBrea responds "I just turned eighteen."

From "LaBrea's Moon"

LaBrea and Ty are visiting Ty's older brother at the Georgia State Prison....
All twelve visitor stations are occupied. Four armed guards are posted along the rear wall monitoring visitors' movements. Chatter fills the room as visitors speak through telephones to blue-cladded inmates seated behind double-thick windows. Ty and LaBrea are seated side-by-side at Station 5, patiently awaiting the arrival of Ty's brother on the opposite side of the bullet-proof glass. Draped in his prison blues, well-toned and buffed 25 year old Devon Foster appears opposite Ty and LaBrea. Behind his muscular, harden exterior, we see the softness in Devon as his eyes beam with joy while gazing at his younger brother and future sister-in-law. The thickness of the bullet-proof glass can not separate the love and admiration these two brothers have for each other. Devon sits.  Simultaneously, Devon and Ty picks up the phones to the right of them. LaBrea scoots closer to Ty, easing her ear closer to the phone...Devon speaks "Well, well...Peanut an' Peaches. I swear to God if you two don't end up together I'm gonna kick some cupid butt..kick his lit'l tail!"...Ty smiles as LaBrea blushes...
